Cuando hablamos de la orquesta de Carlos Di Sarli y de su estilo, hablamos siempre del rol realmente destacado que tiene el mismísimo Di Sarli desde el piano. Hablamos de esa sonoridad grande de los tuttis. Pero hay un elemento clave sin el cual esta orquesta no sería esta orquesta. Y son los solis de violines. Esta orquesta que tuvo una cuerda grande pero integrada estrictamente por violines, sin cuerda grave, sin viola ni violonchelo, empezó con tres violines, como casi cualquier orquesta de su época, a fines de los años '30, pero fue incrementando la cantidad de instrumentistas de la fila con los años. Llegó a tener, como bien cuentan los libros de historia, hasta nueve violines en su fila. Podemos decir que más allá del pianismo y la omnipresencia de su director, la estrella de esta orquesta es la fila de cuerdas. Entonces vamos a meternos hoy en este video con la cuerda, especialmente con los solis y algunos otros elementos que definen el estilo de Carlos Di Sarli. Allá vamos.

Hello tango friends! When we talk about Carlos Di Sarli's orchestra and his style, we always talk about the truly outstanding role which Di Sarli himself has on the piano. We talk about that great sonority of the tuttis. But there's a key element without which this orchestra would not be this orchestra, and that's the violin soli. This orchestra which had a large string section but composed strictly of violins, without viola or cello, started with three violins, like almost every orchestra of its time, in the late 1930s, but the number of instrumentalists in the lineup increased over the years.
